Είδα τα καλύτερα μυαλά της γενιάς μου,
χαλασμένα από την τρέλα,
λιμασμένα υστερικά γυμνά,
να σέρνονται μέσα στους μαύρους δρόμους την αυγή
γυρεύοντας μια φλογισμένη δόση,
φτωχοί και κουρελήδες με βαθουλωμένα μάτια,
που φτιαγμένοι ξενυχτούσαν καπνίζοντας
στο υπερφυσικό σκοτάδι παγωμένων διαμερισμάτων,
αρμενίζοντας πάνω από τις κορφές των πόλεων
αφοσιωμένοι στη τζαζ,
άνοιγαν το μυαλό τους στα Ουράνια
κάτω απ’ τον εναέριο σιδηρόδρομο
και βλέπανε αγγέλους μουσουλμάνους
τρεκλίζοντας φωτισμένοι
σε ταράτσες λαϊκών πολυκατοικιών

Αποβλήθηκαν απ’ τις ακαδημίες
γιατί ήταν λέει τρελοί
κι εξέδιδαν άσεμνες ωδές
στα παράθυρα της νεκροκεφαλής
τρέμανε σ’ αξύριστα δωμάτια με τα εσώρουχα,
καίγοντας τα λεφτά τους σε καλάθια αχρήστων
και στήνοντας αυτί
στον Τρόμο μέσα απ’ τον τοίχο
μπουρδολογώντας ουρλιάζοντας
ξερνοβολώντας ψιθυρίζοντας γεγονότα και μνήμες
κι ανέκδοτα και πλάκες που σπάσανε
και σοκ νοσοκομείων και φυλακών
και πολέμων, ολόκληρες διάνοιες
που ξεράστηκαν αναπολώντας με απόλυτη ακρίβεια
επτά μέρες και νύχτες
με μάτια που άστραφταν,
κρέας για τη Συναγωγή
πεταμένο στο πεζοδρόμιο

Έκαναν τρύπες από τσιγάρα στα μπράτσα τους
διαμαρτυρόμενοι για την ναρκωτική καταχνιά του ταμπάκου,
του καπιταλισμού,
έσπασαν κλαίγοντας
σε λευκά γυμναστήρια
γυμνοί και τρέμοντας
μπροστά στις μηχανές άλλων σκελετών,
βήχανε στον έκτο όροφο
στεφανωμένοι με φλόγα
κάτω από τον φυματικό ουρανό
πλαισιωμένοι από πορτοκαλιά σαράβαλα θεολογίας
μαγείρεψαν σάπια ζώα,
πλεμόνια, καρδιές, πόδια, ουρές
κάνοντας όνειρα για το αγνό βασίλειο των φυτών
ορνιθοσκαλίζανε όλη νύχτα
ροκεντρολλάροντας ανυπέρβλητες επωδές
που στο κίτρινο πρωινό
ήταν στροφές ασυναρτησιών
χωθήκανε κάτω από φορτηγά ψυγεία κρεάτων
ψάχνοντας για ένα αυγό,
πέταξαν τα ρολόγια τους απ’ την ταράτσα
για να ρίξουν την ψήφο τους
υπέρ της Αιωνιότητας έξω απ’ τον Χρόνο,
και ξυπνητήρια πέφταν κάθε μέρα στα κεφάλια τους,
καθ’ όλη την επόμενη δεκαετία,
κόψανε τις φλέβες τους
τρεις φορές συνέχεια ανεπιτυχώς
το πήρανε απόφαση
και αναγκάστηκαν ν’ ανοίξουν μαγαζιά με αντίκες
όπου νιώθαν πως γερνούν και κλαίγανε
και γύρισαν μετά από χρόνια στ’ αλήθεια φαλακροί
αλλά με ματωμένο το κεφάλι
και τα δάκρυα και τα δάχτυλα,
σ’ ολοφάνερη καταδίκη της τρέλας
των θαλάμων των τρελοπόλεων
λογομαχώντας σε βρωμερά δωμάτια
με τους αντίλαλους της ψυχής,
χορεύοντας ροκ στις μεσονύχτιες
παντέρημες εκτάσεις της αγάπης,
ένα όνειρο ζωής ένας βραχνάς
κορμιά που γινήκαν πέτρα
βαρειά σαν το φεγγάρι
